Antonino sierra calderón

Artista. Empezó su formación de artes plásticas en talleres en Querétaro y en la Academia de San Carlos en Ciudad de México. Posteriormente realizó estudios en la Grand Central Atelier en Nueva York y obtuvo diploma de dibujo y pintura en la Barcelona Academy of Art. Terminó sus estudios pictóricos bajo la guía del maestro Odd Nerdum en Noruega. Ha participado en varias exposiciones colectivas donde destaca una del Museo Europeo de Arte Moderno en España.

Sus intereses son diversos. Estudió la licenciatura de Ciencia Política en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México y también tiene estudios de artes cinematográficas. Ha explorado temáticas como el cuerpo humano, la conciencia, la relatividad del tiempo y la identidad.

En la serie "Los Hijos de Gaia" el artista ha indagado en la conexión que tiene el ser humano con su pasado y su futuro antropomórfico. Representando figuras desnudas en un entorno natural, el artista busca la esencia compartida que une a todas las ramas del árbol genealógico humano. De igual forma es una exploración del arquetipo de la gran madre, a través una investigación enfocada en psicología analítica, antropología e historia.

Actualmente Antonino Sierra es profesor de dibujo y pintura en Atelier México en Ciudad de México donde también tiene su taller.

Artist. He began his fine arts training in workshops in Querétaro and at the San Carlos Academy in Mexico City. Subsequently, he pursued studies at the Grand Central Atelier in New York and obtained a diploma in drawing and painting at the Barcelona Academy of Art. He completed his painting studies under the guidance of master Odd Nerdum in Norway. He has participated in various group exhibitions, notable among which is one at the European Museum of Modern Art in Spain.

His interests are diverse. He holds a degree in Political Science from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and also has studies in cinematography. He has explored themes such as the human body, consciousness, the relativity of time, and identity.

In the series "The Children of Gaia," the artist has delved into the connection that the human being has with its past and its anthropomorphic future. By representing nude figures in a natural setting, the artist seeks the shared essence that unites all branches of the human genealogical tree. It is also an exploration of the archetype of the great mother, through research focused on analytical psychology, anthropology, and history.

Currently, Antonino Sierra is a professor of drawing and painting at Atelier México in Mexico City where he also has his studio.
